Miss Adventure is a classic example of the "Barrel Back" boats which were a common sight in the 1000 Islands during the 1940's and 1950's. In the background is the yacht house of the famous Boldt's Castle of Hart Island, Alexandria Bay, New York. As you can see in the picture, the boathouse doors were designed to be several stories high to accommodate the masts of George Boldt's various yachts.
