In days gone by, local fishing guides used St. Lawrence skiffs, rowing them all day long while their clients fished. These guides knew all the best places to find trophy Bass, Northern Pike, Pickerel or even the elusive Muskellunge. At midday they would land on an island , clean the fish and prepare a "shore lunch" for their customers. In the background is the Zavikon Islands, a 1000 Island landmark. They are said to feature the "shortest international bridge in the world", spanning the line between Canada and the United States.
